Tattoo Gold is entering a new chapter.
After six years in Takapuna, Auckland, New Zealand, the physical Tattoo Gold studio has now closed.
This decision was made with purpose. Tattoo Gold is evolving, and I am relocating to the Netherlands to build a new studio space in Zevenaar, approximately one hour from Amsterdam, closer to my international clients, conventions and family.
The previous Tattoo Gold artists in New Zealand have now moved on to work from other tattoo studios in Auckland, while I continue to carry Tattoo Gold into its next chapter overseas.
Alongside the new studio being built in the Netherlands, I am also developing a monthly tattoo residency in Amsterdam and will be travelling to selected tattoo conventions across Europe.
New tattoo bookings are now open in the Netherlands, including Zevenaar and Amsterdam. I will also continue travelling back to New Zealand, with an Auckland appointment waitlist now open for 2027. Dates are still to be confirmed.
A full new Tattoo Gold website is currently being built, with updated galleries, booking information, travel dates, paramedical work, convention projects and more to come.

Who is Tattoo Gold
I’m Coen Mitchell, the artist behind Tattoo Gold.
I first established the Tattoo Gold name in 2013, and since then it has grown with me through every stage of my tattoo career. I’m an award-winning custom tattoo artist with 14 years of experience, recognised among the Global Top 100 tattoo artists in the world.
Over the years I have built and operated a successful tattoo studio in New Zealand, travelled internationally for tattooing, conventions and guest work, and worked with clients who have flown from different parts of the world to be tattooed by me.
For me, tattooing has never been about putting myself into one box or only being known for one style. I enjoy working across different areas of tattooing, from large-scale custom work and fineline tattoos to black and grey realism, ornamental flow, paramedical work and my own signature style, Mosaic Flow.
But more than anything, I care about the experience with you.
I want the person in front of me to feel comfortable, understood and genuinely looked after. A tattoo is such a personal thing, and I have always felt grateful to share that moment with each client who trusts me with their skin, their story and their idea.
These are not just words for a website. This is genuinely how I feel about the work I do, and it is something I try to show through my social media, my videos, my client experience and the way I approach each appointment.
