To request an appointment, please fill in the booking form under the "appointments" tab on my website. Provide as much information as you can. I’ll personally read over your enquiry and get back to you with the next step as soon as possible.
This depends on the tattoo idea, size, placement and level of detail involved. The best way to get an accurate estimate is to send through your idea using the appointment form. From there, I can get a better understanding of the project and talk you through what may be involved. If you have a specific budget, feel free to let me know also. I discount really unique, creative and large scale tattoos that involve beautiful body flow and shape - these are my favourite!
Come well rested, showered and make sure you have eaten properly before your appointment. Being tattooed can use more energy than people expect, especially for longer sessions, so please bring lunch, snacks, water or something with electrolytes to help you stay comfortable throughout the day. Please avoid alcohol the day or night before your appointment, as this can affect your skin, bleeding and how you feel during the tattoo. I also recommend avoiding coffee or too much caffeine before and during your appointment, as it can make you feel more anxious, restless or uncomfortable while being tattooed. If you are taking blood-thinning medication, or anything that may affect your skin or healing, please let me know before your appointment. In the lead-up to your tattoo, look after your skin as much as possible. Healthy, hydrated skin is much easier to tattoo. I recommend keeping the area moisturised and avoiding sunburn or heavy tanning for at least two weeks before your appointment, as tattooing over burnt, peeling or irritated skin may not be possible.I also recommend purchasing your tattoo preparation and aftercare products before your appointment, so you have everything ready for the full process. The Skingraphica SYSTEM LUX kit is designed to support the different stages of tattoo care, including preparation, recovery, protection and long-term maintenance. You can find the purchase link here for a discount on the products: https://skingraphica.com/coenFor the appointment itself, wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. It is also a good idea to bring headphones, a comfortable pillow if you would like one, warm layers or cooler clothing depending on the weather, and comfortable shoes that are easy to take on and off if needed. A hair tie is also helpful if your hair may get in the way.It is usually best to come on your own so the space stays calm and focused, but if you would feel more comfortable bringing someone with you, please just ask beforehand so we can make sure it works for the appointment and space available. It is completely normal to feel nervous, especially if it is your first tattoo or a larger project. I will do my best to keep you comfortable, talk you through the process and make the experience as relaxed as possible.
Aftercare is a really important part of the tattoo process, and it is something I take seriously. At the end of your appointment, I will go through the aftercare steps with you in person so you know exactly what to do, what to expect, and how to look after your tattoo as it heals. You will also be given a clear aftercare brochure to take home, so you do not have to try and remember everything from the day.For the best result, I recommend having your aftercare products ready before your appointment. A fresh tattoo is an investment, and the way you care for it before and after your session can make a real difference to how comfortable the healing process feels and how well the tattoo settles into the skin.I am proud to be associated with Skingraphica, an advanced tattoo skincare system created specifically for tattooed skin. What I like about Skingraphica is that it is not just a basic aftercare cream. Their products are built around the full lifecycle of a tattoo: preparing the skin before the appointment, supporting the healing stage afterwards, protecting the tattoo from daily fading, and helping maintain the look of the tattoo long-term.Their system is designed in stages: prepare, recover, protect and restore. PRIME is made for the preparation stage before tattooing, LOCK is made for the recovery stage after tattooing, SHIELD is made to help protect tattooed skin from fading and daily exposure, and LUME is made for long-term tattoo restoration and maintenance. Skingraphica also offers the SYSTEM LUX kit, which includes all four stages in one complete tattoo care system.I recommend it because I believe good tattooing does not stop when the appointment ends. If you are investing in custom work, especially a larger piece, fineline detail, realism, colour, or long-term body projects, it makes sense to use products that are actually designed for tattooed skin rather than just grabbing whatever is available afterwards. It is a premium product, so I understand it is not the cheapest option. But in my opinion, it is worth considering because it supports the tattoo before, during the healing stage, and long after the initial appointment. The goal is to give your skin and your tattoo the best chance to heal well, settle cleanly and stay looking as good as possible over time.If you would like to purchase Skingraphica, please use my exclusive link on the home page of my website or here:

Tattoo Gold is currently entering a new chapter. The physical Takapuna studio in Auckland has now closed, and I am building the next Tattoo Gold studio in Zevenaar, the Netherlands. I will also be working towards regular Amsterdam appointments, selected tattoo conventions across Europe, and future return visits to New Zealand.
Yes. I will continue returning to New Zealand for selected tattoo appointments and projects. Auckland appointments will be limited and by waitlist only, so the best thing to do is submit your enquiry through the appointment form and select Auckland/New Zealand if that is where you would like to be tattooed.
Yes, for selected projects. Convention appointments are usually best suited to larger, more visual pieces that can be worked on over one or more days. If you would like to be considered for a convention project, send through your idea, body placement, location and availability through the appointment form.
I work across a wide range of styles, including large-scale custom work, fineline, black and grey realism, ornamental flow, paramedical tattooing and Mosaic Flow. I do not try to put myself into one box, but I do care deeply about whether I am the right artist for the idea. If you are unsure, send through your concept and I can let you know if it feels like the right fit.
